Kelly Savage

We are thrilled to share that Kelly Savage, an exceptional financial advisor and former women’s basketball star, has been recognized as one of the 16 inductees into the Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame’s class of 2027. This prestigious honor reflects not only her extraordinary talent on the court but also her unwavering commitment to the sport throughout her life.

During her time at the University of Toledo from 1986 to 1990, Kelly shattered expectations by setting an astounding 30 school records in women’s basketball. Her impact on the program has been profound; she transformed a struggling team into back-to-back Women’s National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) finalists. Today, she still holds top rankings in various all-time categories, including scoring, assists, and free throws, and remains the all-time leader in three-point field goals. That impressive feat speaks to her sharpshooting ability.

Kelly’s accomplishments have not gone unnoticed; she has already earned spots in several other halls of fame, including the University of Toledo, Notre Dame Academy in Toledo, and the Toledo City League. Her induction into the Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame further solidifies her legacy and the significant contributions she has made to the game.

In her own words, Kelly expressed her gratitude, stating, “I am truly blessed to be a part of this prestigious class, and the esteemed Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame. My love for the game was profound, and many life lessons came from so many ups and downs, and wins and losses.” What resonates most is her appreciation for the collective effort behind her success. She acknowledges the crucial support from family, friends, coaches, and teammates, highlighting that this accolade is a shared celebration.

The Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame honors more than just players; it encompasses coaches, teams, and contributors who have shaped the game across the state. With more than 330 inductees, including Oscar Robertson, Nate Thurmond, and Bob Knight, the Hall reflects a rich history of basketball excellence.

The formal induction ceremony, scheduled for May 1, 2027, at the Clark State Performing Arts Center in Springfield, Ohio, promises to be a night filled with celebration and reminiscing about the game we love.

The entire team at Savage and Associates is proud to honor Kelly Savage’s extraordinary journey and remarkable achievements. Here’s to Kelly—a shining example of dedication and passion who continues to inspire us all.
