The University of Toledo’s College of Business Administration dedicates its new Savage and Associates Complex for Business Learning & Engagement in November – completing a 54,000 sq. ft. expansion with a state-of-the-art, high technology complex to serve as a portal to students and the business world.

Savage Foundation established to help support nonprofit organizations throughout northwest Ohio. More than $1.3 million raised to date.

Under the leadership of Bob Savage, GAMA International recognizes Savage with their highest honor, the “Master Agency Award,” naming the firm for the first time (and several years following) one of the top 100 financial services organizations in the nation.

Ernst & Young names John and Bob recipients of their Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

Centennial Hall, a multi-purpose arena for The University of Toledo basketball and volleyball programs, as well as various concerts and special events, is renamed John F. Savage Hall. (In 2008, the name changes to Savage Arena.)

Through the direction of Mickey Rosenberg, Savage establishes the securities division in July.
1980
Led by Wayne Milewski, Savage launches employee/group benefit consulting in February.

Bob takes over as president, as John focuses attention on client and community work. Additionally, in April, Savage moves to Talmadge Road location in Toledo, remaining there for 46 years.

In just 14 years, John grows life insurance protection from $4 million to $30 million.

Savage moves to a shopping strip on Monroe Street (near Secor Road) in Toledo, Ohio.
1959
John’s brother, Bob, becomes the first-ever associate, serving as executive vice president.
